Ryedale Council has begun consultation on the Ryedale Local Plan Strategy. Formerly the Core Strategy, see our blog piece about the resurrection of local plans.
The Ryedale Local Plan Strategy proposes key policies for managing growth and change across those parts of the district outside the North York Moors National Park.
The policies include:
-
the amount and type of new housing (3,000 new homes to 2027), retail and employment development that will take place in different parts of Ryedale;
-
The type of development needed to meet the needs of local communities;
-
the types of change that will happen in Helmsley, Malton, Norton, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside, and the wider rural area;
-
key projects that will deliver the strategy; and
-
a framework for determining planning applications.
Representations on the plan must be received by the Council by the 9th of March 2012.
Does the Ryedale Local Plan affect you? If the answer to these question is yes, and you need expert help to make your representation call Kirkwells on 01282 872570.
And don’t forget the Council are also consulting on a plan for Helmsley.
The Ryedale Plan can be viewed here.
