The Government have announced the funding allocations to be received by local enterprise partnerships from the Growing Places Fund.

The Growing Places Fund is designed to help get the country’s economy back on the road to recovery.

The funding allocations have been made to each of the country’s 38 local enterprise partnerships. To find out how much your local enterprise partnership has been awarded download our – Growing Places Allocations pdf.

It is now down to the local enterprise partnerships to decide and prioritise how the funding will be used. The Growing Places Fund is intended to be a revolving fund to take forward a range of projects that can help boost economic growth, as local enterprise partnerships offer funding to developers, and secure a return on that investment. For example, the Liverpool City Region LEP is seeking to use the funding as an interest free loan. Developers would then pay this back through future profits on the project.

Michael Wellock, Kirkwells Director said:

“The Growing Places fund is a welcome boost for development in our local economies. Given it is also a revolving fund money will be coming back in to the public purse. This can then be re-invested to support further growth.”
