Bolton Draft Community Infrastructure Charging Schedule
Bolton Council has published the charging rates it expects to introduce using the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). Bolton’s Draft Charging Schedule proposes the following CIL rates: Residential dwellings and student accommodation £45 Retail warehouses £45 Supermarkets £135 All other chargeable development £50 (all rates are per square metre). Trafford Consults on Community Infrastructure Levy
Trafford Council has published the charging rates it expects to introduce using the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). Trafford’s Draft Charging Schedule proposes the following CIL rates: Private market houses Cold market sub-area £20 Moderate market sub-area £40 Hot market sub-area £80 (or £65 for apartments in this sub-area) Retail warehouses £75 Supermarkets £225 All other chargeable development £10 (all rates are per square metre). Community Infrastructure Levy to Exempt “Grand Designs”
Proposed changes to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) could see self build homes, “grand designs”, built by individuals, families or groups of individuals for their own use and for owner-occupation, exempt from the CIL Levy. This is the headline grabbing proposal in a consultation launched by Planning Minister Nick Boles who said: “For too long, self-build homes have been seen as an option for only a privileged few and we are determined to change that with proposals that have the potential to save self-builders thousands of pounds. “Our proposals would ensure that self-build homes are exempt from this levy and will make an enormous difference to people looking to realise their dream of buying a plot of land and getting a … Continue reading
Neighbourhood Plan For Increased CIL
Communities that choose to accept new housing will benefit directly from new generous cash incentives. In neighbourhoods where a neighbourhood plan is prepared, and supported by local people in a referendum, will be able to keep 25% of the revenues arising from the development that they choose to accept. This cash boost will be paid directly to parish and town councils. Neighbourhoods without a neighbourhood plan where the levy is charged will receive a capped 15% share of the levy revenue arising from development in their area. Communities without a parish or town council will still benefit from this incentive, with the local planning authority retaining it and spending it in accordance with the wishes of the community. Bolton Consults on Sites and Community Infrastructure Levy
Bolton Council in Greater Manchester is consulting on the latest version of the town’s Site Allocations Plan, and the Draft Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule. Bolton previously consulted on Site Allocations at the turn of the year, but the new Draft Plan that contains a Proposals Map, showing which sites might be suitable for development in the years up to 2026, including locations for new houses and new employment, includes a number of proposed changes.
