Consultation on change to Use Classes Order

On Friday 8th of April DCLG published a 12 week consultation on proposed changes to the Use Classes Order.

The main proposal is to allow changes of use from B1 business use to C3 residential dwelling house use without the need for a planning application. Government are also seeking views if the changes should go further and allow change from B2 general industrial and B8 warehousing to C3. The consultation includes further questions on when these change of use should be acceptable and any necessary mitigation measures.
