East Riding Council is consulting on the Draft East Riding Local Plan.

The consultation focuses on two key documents:

  • Draft Strategy Document – this sets the broad location and amount of development that will take place in each settlement in the East Riding.  It also contains a number of planning policies relating to specific issues, such as providing affordable housing, protecting the landscape character, preventing the loss of valuable services and facilities and minimising the risk of flooding.
  • Draft Allocations Document and Policies Maps – these documents contain a series of maps which show the exact locations where it is proposed development should be supported, as well as areas that should be protected from development; and a series of policies setting out how the sites should be developed.

If the future development of the East Riding affects you, and you need expert help to respond to this consultation email Michael, or call

01282 872570

The closing date for responses on this consultation is Friday, 5th April 2013.
