Bolton Consults on Sites and Community Infrastructure Levy

  Bolton Council in Greater Manchester is consulting on the latest version of the town’s Site Allocations Plan, and the Draft Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule. Bolton previously consulted on Site Allocations at the turn of the year, but the new Draft Plan that contains a Proposals Map, showing which sites might be suitable for development in the years up to 2026, including locations for new houses and new employment, includes a number of proposed changes. Kirkwells Appointed to Support Stretton Neighbourhood Plan

Kirkwells have been appointed by Stretton Parish Council to help support their neighbourhood plan preparation. Stretton are one of the Government’s neighbourhood planning frontrunners. Currently awaiting publication of their designation notice Stretton had previously been one of a number of parishes in East Staffordshire who had attended one of Kirkwells’ neighbourhood planning training sessions. In announcing the appointment Stretton Parish Council Chairman David Eynon said: “We are very pleased to have the support of Kirkwells at this important time. Extending Existing Planning Permissions

The Government have announced a one year extension to the temporary provisions which allow applicants to extend the time limits for implementing a planning permission. From 1st of October 2012 a new 12-month cohort of planning permissions come within the scope of these provisions. This means applicants with unimplemented, extant planning permissions granted on or before 1 October 2010 (previously the deadline was 1 October 2009) will now be able to apply for a replacement permission for the same development, subject to a new time limit for implementation. As before, such applications will be subject to a lower fee, less onerous information and consultation requirements and a design and access statement will not be required. Cheshire West and Chester Starts Consultations on Local Plan

Cheshire West and Chester Council is preparing a new Local Plan. The Local Plan for Cheshire West and Chester when complete will set out how much, what type and where new development should take place over the next 20 years. To kick start preparation of this Plan the council are consulting on Local Plan Preferred Policy Directions.  This consultation will run for just over 10 weeks from Friday 31 August to Monday 12 November 2012. York Core Strategy Withdrawn But City Calls For Sites

The York Core Strategy has been formally withdrawn, and as a result, the Examination into the Core Strategy has ceased. But the City Council are undertaking a Call for Sites exercise. Inviting the public, developers, landowners and businesses to submit details of sites that they consider could be suitable for development, or redevelopment, over the next 15-20 years or beyond. Site suggestions are invited for the following uses: housing, employment, retail, leisure, health, waste, energy generation, community and recreational uses. County Durham Plan Consultation

The County Durham Plan has reached the Preferred Option consultation stage. The County Durham Plan will guide development and change in County Durham over the next 15 to 20 years. The Council see this as an “ambitious Plan that focuses on driving economic growth and therefore makes important, and sometimes difficult, decisions and choices about how and where new development should be located”. The Preferred Options of the Plan includes new strategic policies and proposes specific allocations for new housing, jobs, shops and infrastructure across the County. The Plan aims to: Create 30,000 jobs and increase the proportion of our workforce in work to 73% (from the current rate of 67%); Focus development on the twelve main towns and improve the sustainability of all settlements; … Continue reading

Planning Rules Change to Boost Economy

A major new package of planning measures has been announced to help kick-start the UK economy. Commenting on the measures Michael Wellock, Kirkwells’ Managing Director said: “Given the state of the economy these measures have a hint of desperation about them, but now is not the time to quibble.
