South Tyneside Strategic Land Review – Call For Sites
South Tyneside Council is looking to prepare a new Local Plan. To kick off this development plan preparation process South Tyneside Council are undertaking a comprehensive Strategic Land Review (SLR) of the borough. All people interested in the future of South Tyneside, whether as landowners, agents, potential developers, community groups or individuals are being asked to put forward sites that they think should be considered for future development. These sites would help meet South Tyneside’s housing, employment, retail, leisure and recreational needs in either the short-term (1-5 years), medium-term (5-10 years) or long-term (10-20 years). Cheshire West and Chester Starts Consultations on Local Plan
Cheshire West and Chester Council is preparing a new Local Plan. The Local Plan for Cheshire West and Chester when complete will set out how much, what type and where new development should take place over the next 20 years. To kick start preparation of this Plan the council are consulting on Local Plan Preferred Policy Directions. This consultation will run for just over 10 weeks from Friday 31 August to Monday 12 November 2012. County Durham Plan Consultation
The County Durham Plan has reached the Preferred Option consultation stage. The County Durham Plan will guide development and change in County Durham over the next 15 to 20 years. The Council see this as an “ambitious Plan that focuses on driving economic growth and therefore makes important, and sometimes difficult, decisions and choices about how and where new development should be located”. The Preferred Options of the Plan includes new strategic policies and proposes specific allocations for new housing, jobs, shops and infrastructure across the County. Cannock Chase Consults on Local Plan
Combining the Core Strategy, and Rugeley Town Centre Area Action Plan, Cannock Chase Council is consulting, up until the 17th of September 2012, on a new Local Plan. The basic strategy in the plan is to focus development across the existing settlements of Cannock, Hednesford, Heath Hayes, Norton Canes, Rugeley, and Brereton. Cannock, Hednesford and Hayes will see 1,550 houses on urban sites and 750 homes as an urban extension on a strategic site west of Pye Green Road. and an initial 58 ha of employment land with more at Kingswood Lakeside, if required. Rugeley and Brereton will see 680 houses on urban sites. East Staffordshire Local Plan Consultation
East Staffordshire is consulting on a new Local Plan. The East Staffordshire Local Plan will set the planning framework for new homes, employment and community facilities, as well as ensuring the protection of the historic and natural environment up to 2031. To deliver growth the Council has looked at a series of options. The preferred option, “Option 2d”, would see sustainable urban extensions south of Burton-upon-Trent and west of Uttoxeter. In total, this would see 3,900 new homes in Burton and 1,050 in Uttoxeter. Over 75% of these new homes would be on greenfield sites. 31 hectares of employment land are proposed. Derbyshire Dales Consults on Future Housing
Derbyshire Dales have started a six week consultation on where 4,400 new homes should be built up to 2028. The 4,400 new homes will be allocated in the forthcoming Derbyshire Dales Local Plan. To meet the target provisional distributions have been earmarked: 270 new homes in Matlock; 60 in Wirksworth; 160 in Darley Dale; 30 in Tansley; 400 in Ashbourne; 50 in Doveridge; and 50 in Brailsford As part of this consultation revised Settlement boundaries have also been identified. Last Chance to Comment on Controversial West Lancashire Local Plan
Affected by future development in West Lancashire? You have until the 5th of October 2012 to comment on the West Lancashire Local Plan. The West Lancashire Local Plan caused some controversy last year due to its greenfield allocations. Now West Lancashire Council, in setting out how the area will develop up to 2027, has embarked on a final consultation that carries forward a number of these greenfield development proposals, including: a strategic site at Yew Tree Farm, Burscough – where 500 homes will be built and land is safeguarded for 500 more; safeguarded land for housing should market conditions improve; provision for 75 hectares of employment land, including extension of the Burscough industrial estate in to the Green Belt; and … Continue reading
